LARKSPUR

Larkspur are poisonous hardy annual Delphinium Hybrids. Flowers are 1" across, arranged on a long spike measuring 8 - 24" in length. There are also branching types with several flower spikes on one plant. Stems could be as long as 100 cm. Flowers are available in a variety of different colours. Larkspur is ethylene sensitive and shatters very easily. Foliage turns yellow. Other defects are disease spots on petals and stems.

Care and Handling:

  1. Unpack as soon as possible to prevent wilting and accumulation of Ethylene gas.
  2. Cut off 5 cm of stem, using stem cutters, a sharp knife or scissors. Place the flowers in warm water with flower food. Put flower buckets in
  3. cooler with relative humidity of 90 - 95%.
  4. Loosen bunches in buckets for better circulation. Remove damaged flowers or leaves. Replenish Chrysal solution every day or two as needed.
