With the long and cold Winter approaching rapidly, you might be more concerned about what you can prepare for plant and bloom come next spring! But fear not, there are plenty of beautiful flowers that you can grow indoors, keeping the beauty of flowers involved in your daily life even during the most frigid parts of the year! This article will look at both the Amaryllis and the Narcissus, but you don't need to limit yourself! there are plenty of options out there, so get creative!
Amaryllis
The Amaryllis is a big bulbed flower that produces bright, beautiful colours such as Red, white, and pink. They grow quite well in both a cooler environment as well as potted soil, making them an ideal candidate for indoor growth. This flower is large and will dominate your arrangement, so be sure to plan accordingly! When planting Amaryllis, choose a pot that only just wider than the actual bulb, and ensure that the pot is quite deep in order to allow for extensive root growth.
Narcissus
The Narcissus is a smaller pale white flower, and as such usually works better in groups of 2 or 3 planted in a pot either in soil or a bowl with pebbles and water. This beauty is a lot less dominant than the Amaryllis, but nonetheless it makes a nice accent to any room! Like the Amaryllis, the Narcissus is best suited to a cooler, but not freezing environment. If you desire to plant multiple flowers into one pot, it is ok to set them close together but ensure that they are not touching, so as not to miss out on the best possible view once they have achieved full view.
